16 New Landforce Crew Members Trained, Ready To Go In Pittsburgh Region

On May 2nd 16 new crew members joined the Landforce team. They come from all across the Pittsburgh region and each have their own unique story to tell, but the common thread between each of them is a commitment to working hard to improve their communities and to reach their own personal goals.
When orientation concluded last week Landforce crew members had already gained extensive workforce development and land stewardship skills.
They took a course to become CPR certified, learned job site and tool safety skills, and came together as a crew to accomplish a grueling hike up Mt. Washington in Pittsburgh.
They attended a financial empowerment workshop lead by representatives from local banks and community organizations, and many opened bank accounts for the first time.
Landforce helped crew members lay the groundwork to achieve the personal and professional goals of our crew members, and now it’s time to get to work.
Landforce crews will be working all over Pittsburgh in the coming weeks, installing exhibits at the Pittsburgh Zoo to landscaping in the Hill District, building steps in a community garden in Mt. Washington, and planting trees in Hazlewood.
If you see us out in neon green Landforce shirts, come say hello!
